Brenneisen
I have traced the Brenneisen line back five generations in Gerbach and Eppstein, Germany.
This is an area to the East of Worms in the Pfalz district known for Liebfraumich.
Other than various documents concerning my grandfather, all the information is derived
from Catholic church records in the two villages.
PETER BRENNEISEN ( Ludwig 2. Ludwig 3. Adam 4, Casper 5 )
Born 14 Dec 1882, in Eppstein, died 13 July 1954 in Coraopolis, PA. Married Theresa Jane DeChar daughter of Andrew Deshart
and Martha Miller on 26 Jun 1907 in Allegheny, PA.
Children: John Peter, 9 Apl 1912- 15 Dec 2002, Clara Esther Baur (from previous marriage of Theresa), 5 Sept 1900 - 1990.
LUDWIG BRENNEISEN ( Ludwig 3, Adam 4, Casper 5 )
Born 28 July 1839 in Gerbach, died in Eppstein abt. 1893. A blacksmith. Married Anna Maria Nicola daughter of Clement Nicola and
Maria Kmier on 4 Mar 1865 and had the following children: Ludwig, 9 Mar 1866-?, Margaretha, 4 Apl 1868-?, Adam, 20 June 1869,
Philip, 18 Apl 1872-?, Wilheim, 22 Oct 1873, Anna Marie, 5 Nov 1873- 4 Jan 1893. (It is assumed that the multiple births
led to the demise of Anna Maria born abt. 1846 - 5 Nov 1873) Ludwig then married Margarathae Garst in 1874 daughter
of Petri Garst and Annae Schaad. They had the following children: Cathrina, 24 Dec 1874, George, abt. 1877 - ?,
Susanna 28 Apl 1878 - 13 Dec 1891, Peter, 13 July 1882 - 13 July 1954, Maria Elizabeth, 4 Dec 1885 -?, Jacob, 8 July 1885.
( I have been unable to confirm the death of Ludwig in 1892-3, however it is interesting to speculate that the eldest son Ludwig, then
in his late twenties, might encourage his step-mother, her children, and his sister who had a child out of wedlock to emigrate to America.
Margarathae did have a brother, Peter Garst, who with his wife Elizabeth emigrated in 1884 and settled in Indiana.)

Born 1799, died in Gerbach before 1865. He married Elizabeth Doerr on 30 Jan. 1826 in Gerbach.

ADAM BRENNEISEN ( Casper 5 )
Born about 1780 in Jacobsweiller, Germany and died 10 Nov 1850. Listed as Joannes Adamus on marriage banns.
Married Cathrine Lang on 22 July 1798, daughter of Nicolai Lang and Elizabeth Steegin in Gerbach
Children: Ludwig, 1799- bef 1865, Nicolas, 27 Nov 1803 --?, Joseph, 8 Feb 1811 -?.
CASPARI BRENNEISEN
Born abt 1758 in Imsbach, Germany. He married Susanna ? ( poss. D'Jetae) who was also born in Imsbach.
Children: Adam, abt. 1780 - 1850. Only reference found to date.
