I tend to create in three dimensions. Even my paintings seem to gravitate to shaped canvases.

This piece consists of redwood, beach sand, and found metal castings.
I was interested in seeing if I could make a sculptural statement
with a small table top object.

Enfo 100e

Making engines from wood was something I first heard in a Peter Ustinov
comedy album. The Valhalla was simply a combination of poplar and mahogany
with some old car bits. The Enfo was actually modeled on an English Ford engine
so that various pieces of that model could be bolted on. Black walnut just
seemed the appropriate material. Both these sculptures have appeared innumerous shows
including the Cleveland Auto Show, Falwick Gallery, and the Glenmoor gathering.
